Helsinki Smart City Innovation Hackathon is a collaborative technology event that encourages developers, designers, entrepreneurs, students, and innovators to build practical solutions addressing urban challenges and community needs.
Participants work in teams to develop ideas related to smart mobility, sustainability, public services, digital infrastructure, environmental monitoring, and citizen engagement. The event combines innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving within a structured and supportive environment.
Mentors from technology, business, and public-sector backgrounds guide participants throughout the hackathon. Workshops and technical sessions provide additional support for solution development, prototyping, and project presentation.
At the conclusion of the event, teams present their solutions before a panel of judges representing industry and innovation communities. Projects are evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, impact, and technical implementation.
